“WTF happened on Friday” weekend – Episode 2

Episode 2 – Raj, the survivor

He washed his cup with an i-just-got-screwed expression on his face. Raj had stopped being a superstitious person since the age of 16. But now he had a strong feeling that some supernatural force had decided to punish him for all his past mistakes by robbing him off his wallet, mobile, laptop and locking him inside the house for 2 long days. It was an evil conspiracy being played on him and the fact that Raj was sloshed made it all the more easy for the evil conspirator. But Raj could survive 1000 hurricanes. He was well known in South India for his world record of six accidents on his two wheeler without getting injured once:

• Once while overtaking a bus, he had foreseen his vehicle getting smashed and promptly jumped just before it happened
• Once he did not even have to foresee – out of nowhere a car came right in front and Raj had to skid his bike Mission Impossible style

…He came up with a fool proof plan to survive.

Raj’s Saturday:

• Somehow tried to reach out to the people who had stolen his things
• Used flat mate’s laptop. Checked on gtalk if those people were online. They weren’t obviously. Alternate option – used data card to message P1 (Raj’s close friend) and first asked him to order food to be delivered to his house.
• 2 hours later – No one online. No food. Door still locked from outside. When in trouble, sleep? Slept for 2 hours.
• Saturday, 4pm: Noted down some mobile numbers of friends stored on his flat mate’s laptop. Reached terrace and jumped over to the next house. Got down to the road and with Rs. 500 in his right back pocket, he walked towards the nearest eating joint.
• After eating maggi, decided to book taxi for the evening and get all his thinks back – most importantly his wallet. So headed to office to call everyone.
• None of his friends were at home. Mr.A, who had the wallet, asked Raj to come Sunday morning to some address he had no clue about. So Raj left for home with the taxi, again with an i-just-got-screwed expression. What was Rs.500 had now become Rs. 300
• On the way back, he gets an itching sensation to go watch a movie and just chill the f**k out in life. Spends Rs. 225 on a move. Rs. 60 on Pepsi to sip during the movie.
• Totally out of money, he walks back to his house from the theater (takes 1 hour). Climbs over the terrace the same way and jumps into the house. Sleeps again.

Woke up fresh on the Sunday as rays of hope streamed through his window in the morning.
